This website is undergoing a facelift. Please check back often!

The Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition was established in 1992 as the realization of a dream. The dream of a dedicated, talented woman affectionately known as Ronnie to one and all in the music world of Dublin.

Within this website, you will find Ronnie's biography, the history of the competition, how you can become involved, as well as events leading up to the next competition.

The first competition was in 1995 with the Final in the National Concert Hall. The first winner was Irish soprano Orla Boylan, who has since gone on to have a major international career.

The competition took place again in 1997, 1999, and 2003, with the other prize winners being American Norah Ansellem, Byung-Soon Lee from Korea, and Italy's Stefania Spaggiari, respectively.

The Fifth Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition was a dazzling round of events in January, 2007, culminating with the Finals on 25 January at the National Concert Hall. The winner of the Fifth Competition was Mari Moriya from Japan.

The Sixth Competition took place: 20-26 January 2010. See the winners of the Sixth Competition
