Dr. Veronica Dunne RIP

STATEMENT

The Friends of the Vocal Arts and Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition Committee deeply regret the passing of our dear friend and mentor Veronica Dunne. She founded the Competition in 1994 to promote opportunities for young Irish opera singers continuing her lifetime commitment to them as a music teacher. Her huge legacy will live on through her voice and teaching and in the enthusiasm and love for opera that she instilled in her students. We are lifted from our sadness by admiration and respect for a life so well lived which gave opportunity and pleasure to so many over the decades. Our condolences to Ronnie’s family at this sad time.

Prof. Diarmuid Hegarty
Chairman, Friends of Vocal Arts
& President, Griffith College
